What is a NOVEC 1230 fire suppression system?

NOVEC 1230 is a clean-agent fire suppressant that extinguishes fire by absorbing heat, leaving no residue, no water damage and no electrically conductive by-products. It discharges in under 10 seconds and is safe for use in occupied spaces, making it the standard choice for server rooms, data centres, control rooms and archive/records rooms.

What is Canex pipe-based electrical panel fire suppression?

A Canex (detection tube) system routes a pressurised polymer tube through the inside of an electrical panel, MCC or switchgear cabinet. The tube itself acts as both the fire detector and the release mechanism — at the hottest point of an internal fire it ruptures automatically, releasing the clean suppression agent directly at the source within seconds, without needing external detectors, power or manual action.

Do I need both a sprinkler system and a fire hydrant system?

They serve different roles and most commercial/industrial occupancies under NBC 2016 need both. Sprinklers give automatic, immediate suppression at the point of fire origin across general floor areas. Hydrant systems (with hose reels and a wet riser) give firefighters and trained staff a manual firefighting capability for larger fires, and are typically mandatory for buildings above a certain height or occupancy.
