Internet enters through a firewall that protects the whole site. A core switch in the server room connects to floor / building access switches over a fibre backbone. Access switches feed every desk, Wi-Fi access point and IP device over Cat6 / Cat6A cabling — with PoE powering cameras, access readers and APs directly. VLANs keep IT, CCTV, access control and BMS traffic separate and secure on the same network.

Cat6 supports 1 Gbps up to 100 m and 10 Gbps up to about 55 m, which suits most offices. Cat6A supports 10 Gbps over the full 100 m and handles high-power PoE better, so it is recommended for Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 access points, PoE lighting and long-life installations. For links between buildings or floors beyond 100 m, fibre optic cable is used.

Yes. Every copper link is tested for continuity and performance, and fibre links are tested for loss. We hand over test reports, labelled patch panels, rack elevations and as-built drawings so the network is easy to maintain and expand.
